Our 10-week development program is designed to help interns perform “real work” in their field of study, and gain applicable experience and knowledge about the industry. Opportunities are available in St. Louis, Mo., and Tempe, Az.

Are you a Junior in College?
We look for students who meet these criteria:
- Are completing junior year of college
- Demonstrate a drive to succeed, have a strong interest in understanding the financial services industry and have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Have excellent analytical, leadership, communication, teamwork and service skills

Length of program
Over the course of 10 weeks, you’ll learn a lot about the financial services industry, the firm and about yourself.

Program Advisor
Interns are provided a Program Advisor (PA). The responsibility of the PA is to serve as a mentor to the interns by providing advice and guidance throughout the internship.
Speaker Series
The Speaker Series is an opportunity for interns to hear a general partner and/or veteran associate speak about his or her area of expertise. These are informal sessions that provide insight into the functions of each division in the firm.
Job share program
Interns get to know more about the RDP program and learn about different areas of the firm in anticipation of a potential opportunity for a full-time position after graduation.

Start the application process
If you’re interested in starting your career with a financial services leader, follow these steps.
- Visit your Career Services office to find out when Edward Jones will conduct on-campus interviews. We have specific target schools at which we recruit beginning in August, going through October.
- Submit your resume through your university’s Career Services site for consideration. On-campus interviews (first round) will take place in late September through mid-October.
- Candidates selected for final round interviews will be asked to complete an application on the Edward Jones Careers site.
- Final round interviews will take place via telephone mid-October through November.
- Offers will be extended to interns in November and December.

Co-op Program
Meaningful work that prepares college sophomores and above for careers making a difference in clients’ lives.
Apply concepts you are learning
Your work will put you on the front lines of client service as you interact directly with clients and branch teams in ways that support the firm’s commitment to delivering an ideal client experience.
This cooperative education (Co-Op) program integrates a career experience with your schooling. By working in a role that uses skills you have learned in school during the same semester that you take classes, you can immediately apply and sharpen your skills. The flexible co-op schedule allows you to comfortably balance both work and school.
About the Co-Op Opportunity
- Paid opportunity
- 20 hours minimum per week
- Work in the Edward Jones St. Louis home office or Tempe
- Openings for Spring and Fall Semester (recruiting takes place one semester before start date)
About the Work You Will Do
The Co-Op program has opportunities throughout different divisions of the firm, on the job duties include: providing branch teams with clear, timely and accurate information, processing account transactions that help fulfill clients’ financial needs and other important daily duties of associates.

Accelerated Leadership Program Internship

The Accelerated Leadership Program internship is a full time, paid program that matches your area of concentration, strengths and interest with a business need at Edward Jones. For 10 weeks you’ll have the opportunity for exposure to our unique culture and seasoned leadership team while doing challenging and meaningful work.
Program Key Features:
- Networking opportunities with peers, technical experts, and senior leadership
- Contribute to a specific business area while also gaining exposure to the organization and learning how business areas interact

With targeted and diverse opportunities to lead, build relationships with senior management, and engage in multiple networking and development opportunities, it’s a platform that invests in you and your career trajectory – an investment that will extend well beyond the two-year program.
Challenging and Multi-Faceted Career Development
Your ALP journey will consist of four high-impact rotations in core business areas that best suit your desired career path and Edward Jones’ requirements. Each rotation will involve people and project leadership, executive mentoring, networking and customized personal development programs. At the end of the two years, you’ll be paired with a key role and a team that mutually benefit you and Edward Jones.
Deep Networks, Key Relationships
Unique among other rotational programs, we facilitate routine access to our executive leadership team through mentorship and networking events. An important component of our accelerated program is to help identify the development path that’s right for you, which can be partly informed by these key relationships you build. No two ALP candidates will have the same journey. We’ll craft your experience to best leverage your unique viewpoint and desired career path. It’s a focused, rigorous platform for serious senior leadership candidates.
Who’s Eligible for the ALP?
The ALP is an ideal career platform for experienced professionals who meet these qualifications:
- MBA or other relevant post-graduate degree, which must be obtained before starting the program
- Prior work experience (1–5 years)
- Communication and collaboration skills
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Attaining FINRA Series 7 and 66 required within first year, where applicable
- Previous demonstration of leadership skills (work, campus)
- Strong decision making abilities
- Balancing best interest of firm and our teams while mitigating risk
- Flexibility, willingness to adapt in a changing and complex environment
- Sharp project management skills
- Subject-matter expertise, as appropriate
In six-month rotations, you’ll be exposed to challenging cross-functional experiences in core business areas, giving you broad organizational exposure in key areas. We’ve designed the program this way to maximize your opportunity to make an impact and sharpen your skills.

Headquarters Rotational Development Program
Full-time positions for college seniors seeking experience in a variety of business areas in our St. Louis or Tempe headquarters.
Program Overview
Perform meaningful work and explore many areas of the firm in this unique program.
For students completing their senior year of college, the RDP provides a 12- to 18-month cross-training experience that allows individuals to rotate through one or more divisions of the firm.
The purpose of our RDP is to provide the associate with a broader perspective, and wider exposure to the work in preparation for their final placement. Opportunities are available in both St. Louis, Mo., and Tempe, Ariz.

Length of Program
As an RDP associate, you’ll rotate through various divisions of the firm over a period of 12 to 18 months. The challenges are purposeful and the personal rewards are immeasurable.

Program Advisor
RDP Program Advisors are former RDP associates who offer their support to new RDP associates as they begin their career at Edward Jones. The RDP Program Advisor can serve as a mentor throughout the program to answer questions about the program itself, final placements and all RDP activities.
Career Mentor Program
As RDPs enter their fourth rotation and final placement, they will be given the opportunity to choose a Career Mentor. Career Mentors are associates who exemplify a strong and healthy work ethic. In addition, they have expressed an interest in supporting the career growth of new associates. Career mentors will:
- Help new associates understand the firm’s culture, values and behaviors common to fellow Edward Jones associates
- Provide guidance for professional development and career plans
- Create awareness of and involvement in activities outside of rotations or final placement
Branch Visits
Each RDP associate is expected to visit four branch offices during the course of the program to gain a more well-rounded perspective into the experiences of a financial advisor (FA) and branch office administrator’s (BOA) experiences.
Competitive Strategies
All RDP associates are invited to participate in a Competitive Strategies class. This class provides a greater understanding of the firm, our philosophy and our market share and positioning within the industry. The class generally meets once a month, with participants giving a final presentation to firm leaders.
Speaker Series
The Speaker Series is an opportunity for RDP associates to hear a general partner and/or veteran associate speak about his or her area of expertise. These are informal sessions that provide insight into the functions of each division in the firm.

Financial Advisor Career Development Program
Full-time opportunity for recent college graduates with less than three years of professional work experience who are interested in the financial advisor career.
Program Overview
Working with Edward Jones, you’ll be doing meaningful work on a daily basis with one of the most respected financial services firms. But always, at Edward Jones, our purpose is clear: doing what’s best for our clients
The Edward Jones Financial Advisor Career Development (FACD) programs provide nine months of industry-leading training and coaching preparing you for your career as a financial advisor. Through this training, individuals with five years or fewer of professional experience are given an opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviors necessary to build a successful practice as a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones.
Based on your previous experience you’ll be placed in one of our two programs. Each program, whether On-Campus or In-Market, you will experience three months of onboarding and study programs to pass the industry exams. Once the exams are passed, you will begin the FACD-specific training.
Here are the details:
- The nine-month training program requires intense dedication and development with little flexibility for time off.
- All FACD trainees are required to take and pass the Series 7 and Series 66 industry exams.
- Financial advisors who complete the FACD Program are eligible and trained to start a new location.
The program enables participants to experience their training while remaining in their selected geographic location. The program is a residency-style model where you will be hosted by a branch team and will be challenged to learn and apply skills in a real world setting. The host branch will provide an avenue for observation and practical application in a way that allows you to be a value-add member to the branch team.

Financial Advisor Summer Internship

Program Overview
As a student preparing for your career, it’s important you find an opportunity that offers challenging work in a learning environment. At Edward Jones, you will find that unique opportunity as you team with a Financial Advisor in his or her branch office.
During the summer internship, you’ll develop valuable relationships with knowledgeable mentors and gain business-building, communication and networking skills. Perhaps most importantly, you’ll be in the unique position to really see what it’s like on a daily basis to be a successful Edward Jones Financial Advisor.
What the internship entails:
- Experiences and activities to demonstrate what the work of a Financial Advisor looks and feels like
- Training and practice to develop the ability to meet and talk with people
As an intern, you may participate in the following activities:

- Marketing support
- Promotion of branch activities
- Assistance with networking and community involvement
- Assistance with client services as allowable

Students will complete the internship the summer prior to graduation. Students interested in applying should meet the following criteria:
- Must be in good academic standing in college or university

Program length and compensation
Interns work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program and are compensated hourly while receiving real-world experience working in a branch office.
